- Matt Skiba and the Sekrets (13)
- Vacationer (12)
- SBTRKT (8)
- Jack White (6)
- Angels & Airwaves (3)
Matt Skiba has another side project! And unsurprisingly it sounds a lot like Alkaline Trio, just not as good. I like it well enough but I’m guessing only big time Trio fans like me will feel the same.
I really like Vacationer’s (Kenny from The Starting Line) debut album. It’s kind of hard to explain what it sounds like besides mellow, so go listen to it.
- Good Old War (6)
- The Used (5)
- Electronic Light Orchestra (4)
- SBTRKT (3)
- A Static Lullaby (3)
My music was mostly on shuffle last week. This week I will be spending some quality time with Matt Skiba’s (Alkaline Trio) new side project.
Also, I think I will load up some Against Me! in honor of Tom Gabel/Laura June Grace’s announcement. It’s sure to be an amazing story and I can’t wait to read it.
- The Used (21)
- Good Old War (21)
- The Weeknd (20)
- Jack White (17)
- SBTRKT (14)
Still not a huge fan of the new Used album, but it’s growing on me. Jack White’s new stuff is no White Stripes, but it’s decent, not great. And everyone should definitely check out SBTRKT. Saw them at Coachella and their latest album does not disappoint. They also go great in a playlist with The Weeknd.

I haven’t been back since, because they made it mandatory to buy 3-day passes and up until now there weren’t enough bands I liked playing to justify spending that much money. That changed when both Refused and At the Drive-In announced they were reuniting for it. And then I looked at the rest of the lineup and realized it was going to be amazing.
So here are all the bands that I was able to see and what I thought:
